Our laboratory began operations in 2018 within the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences and the Intellectulal and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC). We use multidisciplinary approaches to study the gene expression patterns, gene regulatory mechanisms and histogenetic processes of the developing human brain, with emphasis in the neocortex. Our long-term goal is to translate these findings into practical therapeutics for neuropsychiatric disease.
