Research Project:

Though different epigenetic phenomena in autistic brain can alter allele specific expression, the change in allele specific expression is mostly uncharacterized in human postmortem brains. To study this, we generate RNA and genome sequencing data from autistic and control cohorts. I then analyze them after developing less-biased data process pipelines. I also study the function of the JAKMIP1 gene that regulates translation as an FMRP binding partner.
