Research – My research interest is to develop and translate fast, versatile and robust magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques to improve our understanding of cardiovascular diseases as well as their clinical diagnosis and treatment. My group focuses on developing advanced MRI techniques including MR pulse sequence design and development, accelerated data acquisition, image reconstruction algorithms, data analysis methods, deep learning networks and computational models. These technical advances are used to further our understanding of cardiovascular function and the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of various clinical conditions such as congenital heart diseases. These techniques have extended applications for other organs such as the liver and skeletal muscle.
Research Interests – Cardiovascular Imaging, Body Imaging, Quantitative MRI, Artificial Intelligence
Background – I obtained my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering at Tsinghua University, China, and my Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia. I worked in Siemens as a MR research scientist, a collaboration manager, a research and development key expert, as well as a research and development team leader/director. I joined the department of Radiological Sciences at UCLA as a faculty in 2023.
Favorite thing about UCLA? – Beautiful campus, great research/clinical environment and wonderful people to work with
